Goals, Mission & Vision h1 >
Our Goals
The goals of the IMPACT consortium are:
- Conduct rigorous research studies to examine the long-term course of TMAs (including TTP and aHUS) and identify mechanisms that can be targeted to improve treatments for these rare diseases.
- Improve the tools researchers have for performing clinical trials by understanding outcomes that matter to patients, and identifying better measures for these outcomes.
- Fund novel clinical research proposals though the pilot grant program.
- Provide training to enhance the education of early-stage clinicians and researchers who are focusing their careers on TMA.
- Collaborate with patient organizations, scientific and medical societies, and industry partners to provide access to information regarding diagnosis, treatment, and research in TMAs.
Mission
The mission of the IMPACT consortium is to conduct studies that collect rigorous clinical data, patient reported outcomes, and biological specimens to develop insights that pave the way for transformative clinical trials for thrombotic microangiopathies.
